Once roots have penetrated the line you need to replace it. Jetting it only buys time not fixing the problem

Jetting is always just a temporary solution.

If you’ve been told you have to replace your baffle on a septic tank. Get a second opinion

I think the best take is at the end of the day for roots to get inside your sewer the line has been compromised somewhere

jetting is a good temporary solution if you want a permanent solution replacing the line will always win

You’re talking a lot of smack in these comments when you should know jetting, cleaning, roto rooting, all of those are temporary solutions if roots are either penetrating the connections or going through the pipe itself. If that’s what the customer wants fine, but I make sure to explain I’ll have to come back 1-2 times a year to do it.

i tell customers all the time, do not replace it if it has roots, there are cheaper ways to deal with it. Who wants to spend 8k when they can spend 1k and get practically the same result.

Jetting + copper sulfate makes it permanent. But if the pipes completely overtaken by roots, even a warthog nozzle won’t cut through it.
