probably a combo of more humidity on the east coast + potentially harder water where you are now. maybe try adding some humidifiers to your home and test the water and get a lil shower head attachment if it is hard

Cali water is hard , it’s so bad I’m Aussie and when I visit my mother in law in Cali it is so dry and shit. Get a water softener for the shower and it will be heaps better
