since everyone wants to tell you these are dangerous without kindness or education I will do my best to explain it like our swim instructor explained it to me. Puddle jumpers are not recommended for use because they put kids in the "drowning position" basically it trains their body to be straight up and down in the water so if something happens and they fall in or jump in without them their body will instinctively take that position. Using them on a boat is dangerous because if there is an accident and they are knocked unconscious they are likely to end up face down in the water. The best option is no swim aids in pools and just close supervision and true life vests when boating or near open water. I hope this makes sense. They are cute though.

Ross has cute life jackets for 15, they are coast guard approved too! We don’t wear the puddle jumpers, only life jackets.

Everyone claiming that puddle jumpers aren’t safe literally just heard that they teach improper swimming techniques but fun fact no life vest is teaching swimming techniques and a child shouldn’t be in the water alone anyway.

While they are cute, they are not in the color palette that is easy to detect underwater and puddle jumpers are not recommended by the AAP. Everyone does what works for them, but cute doesn’t equal safe. Water safety is so important and can be life or death for many so it’s important to be cautious!

no. no. no. no. puddle jumpers don't allow your child to learn how swim properly. get them a Swim belt well swimming and actual life jacket when on a boat.

my daughters ISR instructor said to never use these! stick to normal life jackets & put ur kids in swim lessons. puddle jumpers are not helping ur child at all
