I had no idea what touch type was😆 it's just regular typing. the other kind (hunt and peck) isn't typing, it's like dog paddling vs swimming lessons🤷♀️

i was taught to type in 8th grade. they covered the keyboards and tested us on it the entire year. you couldnt pass 8th without passing that class. this was also back in 2002-2003

I’m flabbergasted. I tell all my kids, if you retain nothing else from school, you 100% will use typing and your times tables almost everyday of your life

sometimes i open a word document and just try to type stream of thoughts as fast as i can, its really helped with my touch typing

Millennial here. Learned “touch typing” in junior high. A whole year of a class called “computer lab” and while I didn’t know it was called this, I am the only one at work who can type fast and well, no looking at the keyboard and I can look away and have a conversation. I am thankful for this skill, truly. Mind you we spend a couple hours documenting every day, me more since I’m the rcc.

Wow that’s crazy bc we had specific twice a week computer lab time and we would literally do Type To Learn for the entire hour from like second-6th grade

i can touch type as in i can type without looking at the keyboard but i don’t use the “correct” home row cause i grew up gaming and have my left hand on wasd out of habit
