Must be different in Australia, a Latte is milkier than a cappuccino, if you order a cappuccino without foam its a smaller volume half espresso half steamed milk, a Latte is 1/3 espresso 2/3 milk.

I'm not a coffee person, so I found a reference image. Take the foam out of a cappuccino, the cup is either half empty (which the customer won't like, no matter how many times you explain it), fill the rest with milk (making it a latte), or add more espresso shots (which costs extra).

i used to have a regular order two venti extra extra dry cap. I had to steam 4 pitchers of milk sometimes 5 just to get enough foam because if there was any liquid in it they would make me remake it. I'm like how can you even drink this? its literally just two cups of foam.

when i first started drinking coffee YEARS ago I would order a cappuccino but didnt like the foam. next time I went and asked for that exact item. they told me it was a latte.....i said sounds great! simple

Even if there was no foam on a cappuccino, the coffee to milk ratio is quite different for both of them. It’s not the amount of foam that is what makes the only difference between these drinks?

a latte is not just a cappuccino with less foam the microfoam from a latte is emulsioned into the milk while the cappuccino has bigger bubbles sitting on top of liquid milk

hear me out 😭 I love Ice Chocolate on summer and hot Chocolate on winter, but I CANT drink stuff with ice I get pretty sick for some reason 😭 so every time i get an Ice Chocolate WITHOUT ICE and every time they ask "so a Hot choc?" 😭😭😭 I want the cold milk with choc but no ice cause is TOO cold for me😭😭😭

I don't drink coffee but it seems to me that it's not being worded correctly to these customers. Explain to them it's the same coffee but based on the amount of foam they want its a latte or cappuccino
