If I'm being realistic, Dabi would not have the material to do the deed (side-eyeing Garaki rn), but for the story I want to happen, he does. ALSO, he's NOT in love with Zaiaku, and Zaiaku is less "in love" and more "psychologically dependent" on him. Essentially, Dabi tried to recruit her, some stuff happened and they both found themselves in this situation. And then it all spiralled.
