“the cure” feels surprisingly fitting for Eunhyeok’s story because the song explores the idea that love can feel like a cure without actually being capable of healing everything that is broken inside a person. Sometimes, we meet someone who makes life feel lighter, safer, and more bearable, and we begin to believe that their presence can fix the things we have been struggling with. For Eunhyeok, Suae became that kind of person. She gave him warmth and comfort during a time when he was carrying wounds and burdens he rarely allowed himself to show. Being with her didn’t erase his pain, but it gave him a place where, even temporarily, he didn’t have to face everything alone. That is what makes their relationship so heartbreaking. Suae was never the cause of Eunhyeok’s pain, nor could she ever be the cure for it. His struggles existed long before their relationship, and loving Suae could not magically resolve the things he was dealing with within himself and his family. Yet that doesn’t make what they had any less meaningful. If anything, it makes it more significant because Suae was someone who made Eunhyeok experience a kind of happiness and emotional safety that he desperately needed. She wasn’t necessarily the person who could save him; she was the person who made him realize what it felt like to be genuinely cared for. And when Eunhyeok eventually pulled away, it becomes even more painful when viewed through that lens. It wasn’t simply about losing feelings or suddenly deciding that Suae no longer mattered. It was about a person who was already unraveling and didn’t know how to carry everything he was feeling while also holding onto the person he loved. He could love Suae deeply and still be unable to stay. He could miss her and still believe that leaving was necessary. That contradiction is what makes his character so tragic—because sometimes loving someone doesn’t mean you’re emotionally capable of giving them the relationship they deserve. Ultimately, “the cure” isn’t really about finding someone who can fix you; it’s about realizing that another person can bring comfort without being responsible for your healing. That is why the song fits Eunhyeok and Suae so well. Suae wasn’t Eunhyeok’s cure, and Eunhyeok wasn’t Suae’s either. They were two people who found something beautiful in each other while carrying wounds that love alone couldn’t erase. And perhaps that’s the saddest part of their story: their love could give them a reason to hope, but it couldn’t heal everything they were still struggling to become whole from. #operationtruelove #작전명순정 #fyp #goeunhyeok #manhwa
