Something that I don’t see get talked about with Roth IRA’s is that the annual contribution limit will go up over time, yet all the math just keeps the numbers constant. In 2022 they were making these videos of “$6,000 per year” and it’s already gone up 3 times from then

I think I would rather roll my 931,000 into a high dividend paying portfolio and live off the dividends. Then I can pass my 931,000 to my kids and live comfortably.

Always use 6-7% percent return estimations during contribution years and 5% return during retirement. Better to forecast on the lower side.

If you are lower income that might be enough. Higher income plus actually wanting to do something other than stay home in retirement would require way more

Also, that 8% is roughly adjusted for inflation because actual returns have been around ~10% in the S&P 500. So it’d be like $55k or whatever in today’s dollars. $55k in nominal dollars probably won’t go far at all in 20-30 years, so the number he’s showing is the equivalent buying power in today’s dollars.

I’ve always heard about the 4% withdrawal rule. Where does the 4.7% come from?
