I had a job where I had to send executive updates via email, then each morning, I would write an email summary of the emails that I sent for the executives to review, which was then followed by a mandatory meeting where I would read that email to the Executives. I called it story time. The most important rule to the meeting was to not ask any questions or make comments on the meeting. Got laid off in one of the waves of mass layoffs that they used to make it look like they were changing things up by doing exactly the same thing their past two predecessors tried and failed to do.
