Holy this was literally my charater’s backstory. 😭 my dm made my charater’s dad the final boss. My charater was a half elf wizard who carried his dad’s catalyst, which he found when his dad dissapeared from his study and vanished. He wasn’t a lich cuz my dm liked homebrewing stuff so we had a bunch of portal and time travel stuff with his dad trying to bring the end of the world and stuff before we had to fight and kill him ToT (his name is Fredrick XD)

this literally happened to me with three of my players in the same campaign. one is just tragic, one is a cult leader on the run, and the last one is the butler to the cult leader on the run. lemme tell you, i've definitely cooked up some wild stuff for them eheheheh
