We are taught manners at a very early age were taught to say yes, sir yes ma’am thank you, please, we hold the door open so that it doesn’t slam on the person behind us, basic manners, and part of being polite is acknowledging someone when they walk by and that often leads to a conversation

I know my generation was taught to be polite and smile at strangers. I pretty much taught my kids the same thing. Then again my family is from south we are living in the north lol Different cultures in every state.
