@gabesco: learned my lesson and got 3x as much food the night before as I thought I'd need every day after this #caminodesantiago #caminoportugues #backpacking #portugal #solotravel
The lack of food is so real but somehow you can get a beer anywhere from 8am

Yes the lack of resources on the route plus the grocery stores that open literally just whenever was difficult to navigate! A few people were unwell climbing over the Pyrenees on the French way because they didn’t pack enough food and water.

Walked this exact route and woke up with a fever next day so yeah, it’s probably the worst bit of the walk

the river the whole way from Caminha is the way to go, way more scenic, shady, and flat...and plenty of cafes and restaurants

Well, PT is full of these “surprises” from my experience. You never know if the store will actually be open, if the bus will actually arrive or if some people will do what they said they will do. It’s frustrating because there’s a sense of safety in predictability.

I experienced the same on this road! Nothing opened, no grocery, then I found one in a small village, which is not on the google maps 😅 congrats you made it! Valença and Tui were so nice
