It is happening to mine. I clean it regularly so the people saying that it is mold or the plastic was not taken off are incorrect. These are like chips in the coating, just like if a pebble hit your car. I hope this helps. ❤️

i’ve noticed the same thing on my airpods pro bought less than a year ago js slight diff color and have no idea why. only on the exposed areas like outer airpod piece and lid of the case
