@starfishstore: Replying to @Kellam22 2B jumbo triangular pencils are my go-to for most of my students using a “lead” pencil (yes, I’m aware they’re actually graphite 😂). This is because the graphite core is softer than a 2B which means: - it “goes” smoothly onto the page and is often easier to write with - more of the graphite tip hits the page giving MORE sensory input/feedback which can help with movement control - leaves more graphite on the page leaving a darker “mark” ✏️ 2B pencils tend to be recommended for students: - with dyspraxia - low muscle tone - hyper mobility - if they tire easily when writing - if they press too lightly. ✏️ They may need to be sharpened more often, can possibly break more often and may smudge more easily. . If your child presses TOO hard when writing, an HB might be more helpful. ✏️ ✏️ ✏️ Using a 2B or HB pencil isn’t necessarily the be all and end all. And as always, it’s not going to be an answer for every child or student. But it’s worth knowing this information as it can help guide your choices when selecting different handwriting supports. They don’t cost a fortune, and it’s worth having them in the kitbag ready to try with your child if needed. .
