I suspect that much of it is shaped by culture. I highly doubt lions, elephants, or zebras struggle with this condition in the same way humans do.
The difficulty in understanding this universal truth, in my view, comes from not recognizing that human beings are deeply creative and influential creatures. Through thought, habits, and belief systems alone, people can either elevate or gradually destroy the quality of their own lives.
Some individuals seem naturally drawn toward meaning, growth, and discipline, while others gravitate toward noise and distraction. At times, it almost feels as though people are born with different spiritual inclinations. Personally, I experience existence very deeply, so wasting time on meaningless information feels almost impossible because my spirit rejects it.
I understand exactly what you mean, and you can observe the same phenomenon in the workplace. Mention soccer ⚽️and the entire group suddenly comes alive with energy and participation. But the moment you bring up topics like AI agents, philosophy, consciousness, or the future of humanity, most people disconnect immediately. It reveals where attention, curiosity, and mental energy naturally flow within a culture.
