Honestly, this comment section is so sad. I feel like with these kinds of friendships they only work with certain people. Like for me I am not a very social person I don’t talk much to anyone and I have a best friend and we randomly talk whenever we are free and she is really busy and i’m not. Like at one point we only talked every few months when she was overseas and I was the only friend from home that would check in. She has many friends that she talks to daily and I don’t really care, why because I know her and she knows me and our closeness and security isn’t threatened by how much we see each other. And that works for us only because of how much we know each other, like im sure our friendship isn’t perfect but if she is ever in need I am there and she does the same for me.

to everyone saying it comes to a certain point, only because you make it that way. my mom has a best friend since middle school who she doesn’t talk to every single day but will randomly check in & start making plans. thats an adult friendship. you don’t need to be inseparable to have a healthy friendship.
