Dragon = fire, destruction, giant beast, death from above, danger. All fears of human in a single creature. Once created rumors spread. It’s not literally real but it was once real in their minds. And not every culture, just some of the more known ones. I’d say majority never even heard of a dragon.

Technically they weren’t dragons, we just lumped them all under that term recently. These beasts had different designs and stories. Compare a wyvern to a kirin, they’re very different
