My son, who is a recovering addict told me that he could’ve been raised in any place else and his life would’ve been the same that it was his fault and not mine and I needed to let it go and stop blaming myself. That was the best thing he ever told me besides the fact that he went into rehab and has been sober for over three years now.!

I have one that also makes bad choices. I finally stopped blaming myself. My other two kids are married and have wonderful lives.

As a recovering addict, I knew 100% what I was doing. It was never my parents fault. It was nobody’s fault but MINE. I’m 15 years clean now! It’s easy to blame someone else for our mistakes, but accountability has to happen.

I needed to hear this I just tried to make arrangements to July 10 through the 14th and to go see my daughter that turned an argument into a 3 1/2 year quiet time and now she’s turning me into trying to come up to see them and they just don’t have the time for it and know why I set myself up to be hurt
