I’ve saved that to use on my godchildren as I don’t have my own yet

This will make them cry. Most kids look for a reaction. If you dont give a reaction they usually just get up and go about their day.

I also love to ask if they are hurt or if it was just a scary fall! They will usually admit it was scary and be off again!

“Did that hurt your body or feelings? Let me check” only if there are tears/emotion, otherwise it’s “oh cool trick kiddo, let’s check you out real quick” is how I go about it

I just say “uh oh” and wait to see how she responds. 85% of the time she’s fine, the other 15% I’ll say “did you fall down? Do you want a hug?” And then she’s fine.

Definitely going to add that in, for small tumbles I normally say "that was so silly, are you okay?" (normally its while running around being silly/playing.)

I always say "Are you okay?"(usually because thats my first reaction from growing up) and then when I know they are, I ask "Did that scare you or hurt you?" 90% of the time, they say they were just scared and I can hug them and talk about it to see why it was scary/how to avoid it next time. Once in a while they say they are hurt and we can take care of it/see whether or not they actually are hurt and go off of that.

I laugh with my son while helping hime up. if he starts crying laughing stops and then comforting starts. most of the time when I start laughing he stands up and laughs while continuing what he was doing before.

I love your education on this platform, but this is a no. Smile and clap and make it fun like there’s nothing wrong so they just get up on their own and move on. Children don’t need to be taught they have to be “checked out” to be ok

I always say "What happened?" It gives them a chance to stop and think. If they say something hurts, I offer to eat it for them. If that doesnt work, I offer a cold paper towel or an ice pack. Then I turn it into something cool. (fell off the swing - no you flew like a butterfly) -Totally not something that happened today at all😅

I just ask if they're good. they know. I also know each child's hurt-cry instantly. I jump in immediately in those situations.

I work with toddlers and our go to for little falls is “wow that was a cool trick” they giggle and be silly after so we can check them over and move along
