Yk what icl I hear your point on a lot of things but I also don’t blame them for picking up the accent MLE in the first place, people adjust depending on who they are around and I think if that’s all they have been surrounded by or what they are usually exposed to I have no issue with their MLE accent. However what I don’t agree with is them dismissing the roots of where MLE comes from by calling it an improper way of speaking or giving their kids speech classes.this directly shits on a whole history of ethnic people(mostly black) who have used this dialect to communicate for years. I also understand there is microagressions in the statement they made which is why I’m not shocked at the backlash they have received and I do agree their statement is wrong.I do think we see too often white people who speak MLE misrepresenting the history and that I understand may have many people frustrated but I also understand that some people aren’t like them and aren’t cosplaying a character but being who they are which has been influenced by who they’ve been around and respect MLE as a whole. Idk this convo is mad topic it can go down so many routes but I love your take lemme know what you think.

I think the reason why so many people are saying that zac and ava are not racist is because what they’ve said is not particularly attacking any race, they speak with a typically south east london accent which for years has been known as general slang. For that to be labelled MLE is understandable but them wanting their child to speak proper English isn’t and shouldn’t be anyone else’s concern. People just take offence to anythinggggg
