This is important to know. When I first started, I chased dividends because they felt more secure. And while they kind of are, since the money goes in your pocket for you decide what to do with, you’re definitely giving up some growth and likely more than what the dividends makes up

What if someone wants to invest in stocks for their sole dividend purpose? With million dollar in dividend stocks can bring you 50,000 dollars in passive income and in lower tier countries you are actually financially retire on passive income for life. Although i look 3 things while investing in dividend stocks 1. Company should be older than 20 years. 2. Company must have given consistent dividends for years 3. Dividend yield must be near interest rate.

Thinking about how this applies to my portfolio. Chevron is definitely income stock with low movement and high dividends. Nvidia is the opposite, volatile growth stock. But ASML seems to straddle both these categories…dividends and swings.
