Splitting the bills evenly only works if everyone got food which meets the same price point (with few $ differences is fine). But $80 steak vs $12 salad, then it’s not fair

It took so long to realize that when people say 'split the bill' it meant like... Everyone pays evenly. For me and my friends 'split the bill' meant they paid their order, I paid mine. Instead of just one person paying for everyone😭
