@faithlily26: Jesus said a good tree does not bring forth corrupt fruit, and a corrupt tree does not bring forth good fruit. That means what is growing in us will eventually show through us. The flesh may produce image, performance, pride, jealousy, anger, fear, and selfishness. But the Holy Spirit produces love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. Fruit reveals the root. This is not about pretending to be perfect. It is about being honest before God. If the fruit is wrong, we do not need better image management. We need deeper surrender.
