Supreme Court threw out Murdaugh's murder convictions and life sentence for the killings of his wife and son in 2021, citing Hill's egregious conduct that was meant to influence the trial jury to find him guilty. Hill previously pleaded guilty to misconduct in office charges, plus perjury and obstruction of justice, but was only sentenced to probation.
