I feel like with California you have it all though. All within a short span of each other, you get beach, mountains, desert, snow, and Mexico is right there for weekend trips and ofc other cool surrounding states. New York, not so much. Like if you’re craving a ski resort in the winter you can go to big bear and then go back home to the warm weather.

New York has energy you can’t fake. Everything’s walkable, the subway runs 24/7, and you’re never more than 10 minutes away from food, art, or something random happening on the street. You don’t need a car, and you definitely don’t need to plan 45 minutes of traffic just to grab dinner.
