@mcarthurindustries: Today, Luke is going to do a compression test on this Nissan Patrol. Here's what he said... "Morning everyone Luke here from Sandgate Electrics and Automotive Services This morning I'm doing a compression test on this uh Nissan Patrol It uh sounds like it's got no compression It winds over very fast So what this is a compression gauge Um diesels don't have spark plugs They need compression to fire the fuel under extreme pressures And if you don't have compression the car doesn't run The same as a petrol but more of an issue in a diesel, So this this is a compression gauge Goes in there you got the valve that releases the pressure We've had to put a fitting that goes straight down into the top of the head and then the piston's coming up And if it's got no compression um it won't run So we'll just get it wind over And that is not very good" If you have any similar concern on your diesel engine, give the team a call at (07) 3269 3158 or visit our website (Link in comments).
