I started going to farms at the age of 10, that is what prepared us to be strong and when we close from school we have to go and do something

My five years old have started running errand around the house, am already preparing her to take care of herself and her sibling, because in this part of the world u have to be ready at all times to be able to stand out, I also teach her how to express herself without feeling intimidated

Your kids don't have a voice among adults; they stay quiet, observe, and learn. That's how we grow and our parents taught us why things are this way and that way and most often we came to find out that that's true and facts.

My daughter 13, can cook everything and anything, she cleans well too! I had a major ( open) surgery recently, please imagine if she wasn't well trained in that aspect, I would have needed and external extra hand which might be expensive! she and her other siblings took care of me perfectly.I thank God for that everyday 🙏🏾

Telling them that they can still express themselves and speak to you about anything without fear of being shutdown. But still must be respectful

There was rule in my house growing up - whoever get home first from school start the cooking for the whole family and get started doing whatever needs doing, so that implies in the absense of adults, things get done.

My parents separated when I was 13 and my brother, 4. My mom left us with my dad cause she didn't have any funds to take care of us as she had been a stay at home mom all her life. My dad left us cause he had business in another state, so he would just give me money and travel. My mom used to help me go to the market to buy the stuff I needed to cook and then make me recount the steps needed to make a particular meal before she let me go home and cook. I took care of I and my brother for years till they came together when he was 10 and I, 17

I cooked my first family soup at age 11. I’ve been cooking simple meals like rice and spaghetti. I cooked bitter leaf soup that day on my own without supervision and i cooked rubbish 😭😭😭 . The story long. I was trying to impress my elder cousin . She had a visitor (make friend) she wanted to impress too. She asked me to prepare the ingredients which I did . And I don’t know the devil that asked me to cook. I did and it was a disaster. Omo she served the man the food like that oo. But from that day I was asked to cook more soups 😂😂
