@hilaaltheinvestor: I regret paying five figures for mentorship….. Not even slightly. I wish I’d done it sooner!! I was still an NHS nurse when I invested in a mentor. I didn’t tell many people but the ones I told thought I was mad, the ones who get it, get it. I had foundations in property and business but I wanted to catapult my knowledge and get into different rooms, build real credibility. There’s only so much you can learn for free. At some point you have to part ways with your money to access the real value. Three months later I’d made it back packaging deals and selling to time-poor cash investors and built some killer relationships. But the money was the smallest return. What I really bought was access. Conversations with people so far ahead of me that their casual advice was worth more than any course I’d ever taken. And mentors don’t always cost money. Some of my best mentors in life have come from relationships I’ve built naturally, and my own family. People with real skin in the game. Paid or not, find yours. Research properly.
