This is what my doctor said too. I thought I was going crazy until I starting talking to other women who also had their thyroid removed. Please don’t make it sound so rosy. Not having a thyroid can be frustrating and challenging.

Thyroidectomy was a breeze! I’ve actually found it easier to lose weight since having it removed, however I’m 5 years post surgery and my meds still haven’t been figured out, I’m exhausted all the time, and health anxiety is HIGH. Overall, I feel worse than I did prior to surgery, but it’s manageable. Far from the worst thing that could happen, but certainly frustrating when it’s your daily life.

Surgery recovery was easy peasy. I struggle with weight gain, EXHAUSTION, brain fog. It’s awful.

My daughter is having her thyroid removed next month. She has been diagnosed with hyper thyroid and has Graves’ disease disease. Will the Graves’ disease go away after the thyroid removal?

When is it necessary to have it removed? I've had hypothyroid disease for 30 years. Labs are normal. Still feel terrible on a daily basis.

You give me hope. I’m have a TT in July at the University of Michigan with a great surgeon. If I lived closer to you I would definitely be there. You have a calming presence.

I had total thyroidectomy nearly 6 weeks ago and have had lots of migraine with aura since. Could there be a chemical imbalance?

Hello :
Is that just like how the biopsy doesn’t even get you a Tylenol beforehand?
