Instant Jalebi ⬇️Recipe Below 🌱 Jalebi is a popular sweet throughout South Asia and the Middle East. A lot of households make this sweet for breakfast or during religious holidays like Ramadan, Eid, and Diwali. The Jalebi batter is fried into crispy swirls, then dipped in a sugary syrup flavoured with cardamom and saffron. Deliciously crispy, sticky and sweet, this vegan Jalebi recipe is easy to make and ready in around 30 minutes. ❤ Ingredients: For the syrup: -300g granulated sugar -190ml water -a few saffron strands -5-6 cardomom pods, crushed -1 1/2 tsp lemon juice For the batter: -130g plain flour -3 1/2 tbsp corn flour -1/4 tsp baking soda -1/4 tsp orange food colouring powder or turmeric -110g plain vegan yoghurt -160ml -180ml water -1 1/2 tbsp lemon juice ___ To fry: -500ml sunflower or vegetable oil 🔴🔴Method: 1- To make the syrup, place the water and sugar in a pot. Allow it to simmer on a low heat until the sugar dissolves. When the sugar has dissolved, add the saffron and cardomom and bring to a boil. Continue to boil for 5 mins until thickened and syrupy. Remove from the heat and stir in the lemon juice. Allow the syrup to cool slightly for 5-10 mins before preparing the batter. ___ 2 - To make the Jalebi batter place the flour, baking soda, food colouring, and cornflour in a bowl and whisk until combined. ___ 3- Add the yogurt, then add the water, a little at a time and whisk until you get a smooth batter. The consistency of the batter should be a thick pouring consistency. ___ 4-Heat the oil on medium-low heat in a flat pan. Pour the batter into a piping bag or a squeeze bottle and squeeze the batter into the oil in a circular motion to get a spiral shape. Fry about 3-4 at a time depending on the size of your pan ___ 5-Fry each side for around one minute on a medium-low heat. Remove the Jalebi from the oil using a slotted spoon then dip each one in the warm syrup, making sure they're soaked in the syrup completely. ___ 6-Serve the Jalebi warm or allow to completely cool before storing in an airtight container. Jalebi is best served fresh. #jalebi #jalebirecipe #indiatiktok #indianfood #streetfood #indianstreetfood #sweettooth #foodies #saree #sareelove #foodtiktok #tiktokfood #dessert #desserts #jilapi #sareelook
