Tania Jones :
The thing is, Michael Jackson became too powerful for a lot of people. Not just in music, but globally... in culture, humanitarian work, business, publishing rights, and influence. He wasn’t only an artist anymore, he was becoming a man with enormous control and worldwide impact.
When he bought the Beatles catalog, that was the moment many people started looking at him differently. A Black man owning one of the most valuable music catalogs in history, while also being the biggest entertainer on Earth, was something a lot of powerful people could not accept. Michael had influence, wealth, and a voice that reached every corner of the world. Everybody knew Michael Jackson.
From the very first allegations, I always felt there was more behind it. Too many people were uncomfortable with the amount of power he had gained. In my opinion, Michael Jackson became a target because of how influential and untouchable he was becoming. And that’s why I believe his story ended the way it did.
I know not everyone will agree with me, but I’ve stood by this belief since the beginning.
