@carlhuelin: I just never thought id get to be 46 and not have kids. It’s been one of the biggest struggles I’ve had to face if I’m honest. Ive gone from dismissing relationships because they didn’t want kids To now dismissing them because they do. The idea of becoming a dad in my late 40s. Starting that whole chapter now. Having the energy for young kids. I don’t know. It just doesn’t feel right anymore or even the right thing to do. I’m just a lot more aware of everything now.. People will say adopt, or find someone who has kids already. But I just know that’s not what I want either. And I know it’s different for men, biologically speaking. But there’s definitely a little grief in knowing that I will never be a Dad. All the moments I thought I’d experience Christmas mornings, birthdays etc. The little things. But I’m embracing the path I’m on now. The freedom The ability to take more risks and design a different lifestyle. Not better, not worse just different. I think I’m content being “cool” uncle Carl to 3 beautiful nieces. Has anyone else battled with this?
You’re a man; 46 is not old. Anything can happen to anyone. My dad was 13 years older than my mom. My mom died of cancer at 45, my dad is 96 and still living independently, walking to the coffee shop, and picking up a few groceries at the corner store.

It’s a heavy grief when the life you really dreamed of, doesn’t eventuate the way you deeply wished it would. 💜 May you find your way to peace.

I feel you on this.. it was always part of my plan. And took time to heal the part that desired this.. but created a life so full right now. That I’m living every moment in the beauty that life is. My heart still breaks sometimes.. but I live the life having kids could never give me 🩷✈️

When you hit 60 you will look back and realize how young you were at 46 and all the things you limited yourself from doing will be regrets because in this moment you thought you were to old. When really you were still young.

Still not too late. I became a dad at 40. And though 62 now, I NEVER felt old. My daughter and I have a really tight bond and can tell you that your age doesn't matter..........you compassion does.

I’m 43 my husband 42 we are also grieving. We can’t have kids fertility issues. We tried. We’ve thought about adopting or going a donar embryo but just don’t have the money for that. We struggle around mothers and Father’s Day. We have 3 nieces and 1 nephew, we love being uncle and aunt. But it’s hard
