If you can afford it buy it outright . It's gonna depreciate regardless. Who wants interest payments if you can avoid it.

He’s making it much more complicated than it needs to be. The basic idea is simple: if your financing rate is lower than the return you can get from another investment, it can make more sense to invest the money instead of paying for the car outright. For example, instead of spending $40k cash on a car, you finance it at 5% and invest that $40k into an index fund that averages around 10% over the long term. Your investment is growing at a higher rate than the interest you’re paying, creating a 5% difference in your favor
