The middle class was once was so strong that regular jobs could afford you a home. Then we stopped taxing the wealthy, and the wealthy rewrote culture and tax code. A person making 200k pays the same into social security as Elon musk.

this is why raising the minimum wage is only a temporary bandage until wages are outpaced by prices again. something needs to be done about corporate greed by capping how much they can reasonably charge for essential goods and services.
