Happens in our work place too, if you don't pick up additional hours as it says in the contract we have to be 'flexible' we get written up for performance reviews so basically pressured into be available 24/7 or told to leave.

Now this one is a gem. For a good manager this is a barometer of how staff are treated normally this would not be an issue. But I used to smirk at how management would mistreat staff and then be equally horrified when phones were switched off when they needed cover. Treat your troops well they reward you

I don't take phone calls on my days off🙂...I just let her call and email me...i don't reply and i don't explain to her at all why i didn't answer it....

to be fair my bosses know I dont answer private numbers and I dont answer work calls after my shift ends. any questions ask me whilst im there. I also dont interact on my phone with any work chat forums etc. work is work my private life is mine.

I have a more complicated issue my team lead just left we ran a production line just me and him so I’ve been running the line solo for three weeks they advertised his job internally I applied had the interview now as I’m the only person on site who can run that line has the know how to operate multiple lines can do the paperwork and handle the pressure they advertised the job on indeed this morning
