@jack.animations: I told meanager I was going to the hospital to have my baby. Two days later she fired me for not showing up.#animation #animationmeme #work #worklife #manager
This doesn’t happen. HR does not help employees, only the company

How the hell do you notify your manager when you're in severe chronic pain

You know, I never had to fill out work when I’m hospitalized. I tell them I’m hospitalized. That’s informing them enough

Normally employees have this lined up before they have a baby. Since they kinda have a 9 month head start.

Similar situation. Had a c section. Gave the doctor the paperwork, job never "received" said paperwork, and fired me while I was recovering from surgery. They also had reduced my schedule from full time to one day a week. They knew my husband couldn't work because of a back injury.

I would not have called HR. I would have called a lawyer and retired!

Yeah… you’re supposed to report this kind of thing to the Labor Board, not HR.

Here in Iceland it's illegal to fire employees for being sick no matter how long the person is away from work.
When it comes to pregnancies it's not even a thought. Companies get a temp until the parental leave is over and that's that.

this doesn't happen in the us. none HRs I had in 20+ years never backed the employee. Lawyers barely help to. usually u get a small settlement possibly but nothing more
