A biscuit is nothing like a scone. Scones are hard and dry, biscuits are pillowy & sometimes have a toasty outer texture but still soft and bready inside. I’ve lived in the UK & there’s nothing I’ve seen that’s the equivalent

A Biscut in America is a FLUFFY 'Quick Bread' that is Savory (made with salted butter). They are levened with baking soda and salt NOT YEAST. A scone is a dense, Sweet pastry similar to our Sour Cream donut without the glaze. A layered biscuit is lighter. The inner texture is like white bread and comes apart in paper thin layers & is also savory not a sweet cake.
