I grew up in Appalachia in western NC and still here 39 years later. The opioid epidemic took ahold of me 20 years ago. I broke free years ago but the damage that has been done in this area is unique. It’s generational trauma and addiction. Thank you for touching on this. It is still wreaking havoc on my community.
