AI is good, if used as a productivity tool, not a complete replacement. IBM said "Never delegate management decisions to a machine, as they cannot be held responsible." I think I butchered that quote but I think I got the spirit of it right.

I'm sure AI has its place, number crunching, repetitive tasks, that kind of thing... But it's a tool, like a hammer, but just because you have a hammer it doesn't mean everything has to be hit with it ESPECIALLY when you have other tools and skills better suited to the job

to clarify the most harmful “type” of AI is the generative AI used to make images and videos. AI that is used as a TOOL (like spell check) can be used responsibly. Obviously it wasn’t in this case but please dont tear this man apart bc he uses some version of AI

I do think AI can be a very useful tool, but they have got to come up with a way to do it that doesn’t have such a large environmental impact. Millions of gallons of water a day are being used that could be used for drinking water, ag irrigation, supporting aquatic life, etc. Usage should absolutely be limited until they can fix that issue

I've been using ai for my communication to my boss. They like to tell me to calm down, that I'm too emotional - so I've been asking the chat to make it more professional.

I use AI at work and we have a leaderboard similar to that. I just have a script that runs and asks our agent a bunch of meaningless questions constantly while I'm working. unrelated to my work, I checked with HR, My boss and my union and they all know I do this, I'm not breaking any rules and I still show up at the top.
