So I take care of my disabled child so not quite the same, but I do find the people that do help me when I'm absolutely drowning are other caregivers (also drowning) because we freaking know.

And then when something good happens they say “God is so good! I’ve had you in my prayers so he must have answered them”. Like no. I spent the last 6-7 years fighting doctors and schools to get my child diagnosed correctly and the iep he needs. Then I spent the year+ waitlist for DDA and SSI. I am completely burnt out, and have cut off pretty much all of my “family” and friends after they left my special needs son and I out on the street homeless for over a year and all I got was “thoughts and prayers”
