i just moved into my BF's place. I'm doing a total rehaul on his place. I'm throwing things away left, right & centre, replacing them with wooden cutting boards, utensils etc. Bye bye plastic bowls hello stainless steel or glass ones. Out with the Teflon pots too.

She does have a point about the additives to make the spatulas and whatnot heat resistant, but it's not from using reclaimed plastic. You cannot separate the individual resins cost effectively, and it's almost pointless to try. Anyone who has worked with any kind of plastics will understand why recycling plastic is complete bullshit. Theres no way to be completely sure that you're getting the correct blend of base resins, unless you burry any of the recycled stuff in a middle layer and then it can only be about 1-2 percent of the total blend. So you have to use about 98% virgin poly.... and then if you're doing something like injection molding, you have to have very precise temperature control for specific blends of resins to not burn but completely blend, and flow in the mold correctly...

So. The electronic cases are flame retardant. The PCB and the coatings that protect the PCB are the flame retardant components. Just an FYI.
