Britt, I've been thinking a lot about nihilism and objective truth and reality and how everyone is just living in our brain's own story and meaning making ways because it's literally impossible for us to not do that. And with that said, I can't help but wonder that Nihilism is itself a way of making meaning for our brain. it's the end all be all, a set reality that we can know for sure to be fact and calm our brains anxiety of fear of the unknown and death. So then I get stuck in a paradoxical loop of "there is no meaning" and "what if there is?" because things we know now could transform dramatically with new discoveries and technology. even myself saying that is my brains way of making meaning to stave off the anxiety, but at the end of the day, we genuinely do not know. even nihilism is a way of guessing and can give a wierd sense of superiority. our brains are still animalistic and we're not as evolved as we think we are, no matter how much we try to grasp it and tell ourselves that we are. just things I've been thinking about lately

“Pragmatically, how can we reduce suffering & increase well being” is a GREAT question! The answer I have so far is that the best I can do is work on my own most days. It gives me a good practice to be prepared to help another when the opportunity arises. And it aligns with “peace begins with me”
