In July 2012, the 16-year-old from Morgantown, West Virginia, was brutally betrayed by the people she trusted most, her own best friends. Skylar was lured out of her home late at night by Rachel Shoaf and Shelia Eddy, both also 16 at the time. Believing she was just going for a late-night drive, Skylar willingly got into their car. Instead, she was driven to a remote area and stabbed more than 50 times in a vicious and calculated attack. What shocked investigators and the public was the complete lack of a clear motive.
