Matsumura and Yano's version (Madhouse) may have better animation (Mori is the best animation director in the series, I think that part was animated by Sawada) but ooooh Nishida's version (Nippon) is so stunningly beautiful and carefully composed, it hit me on a completely different level when I saw it, and I think it does show a lot of Kojina's (Madhouse) and Matsushita's (Nippon) approaches as series directors... Matsushita knew how to succeed Furuhashi's work
