Don’t do this. I have a 2k deductible and my 1 yr old roof got damaged again by 3.5 inch hail. It will almost never save you money

So two insurance policies, one self insured and one fully insured. So now I pay 40% more for insurance. Got it.

5% w/h deductible on a $300k house is $15k. The roof cost maybe $20k. You essentially aren’t insured for Hail anymore. I think she’s saying that you then go get a policy that covers either just roof damages not whole home OR that you get a policy that covers your deductible. Not really sure. If it’s a good deal she would show you the math but she isn’t.
