You're missing a huge aspect to the re-entry process. The orion capsule keeps its G-forces remarkably low despite hitting the atmosphere at 25,000 mph. It achieves this by using a flight maneuver called a Skip entry. Rather than taking a steep, punishing plunge straight to earth, orion dipped into the upper atmosphere to bleed off initial speed. It used its aerodynamic shape to generate lift, and temporarily skipped back out into space, like a stone across a pond. It then performed a second, much slower final Descent. By dividing the braking process into two separate events, orion reduced the peak G-forces from around 6.8 Gs down to just 3.9 Gs, making the ride vastly safer and more comfortable for the human crew.
