Our yellow lab has been like this since we got him at 8 weeks old. He isn’t codependent though, he doesn’t follow me around at all and doesn’t cuddle with us much or at all really. He likes butt scratches and sometimes belly rubs but otherwise not very affectionate.

My pit/pug he is a year old every time he hears a noise he starts barking it’s like he’s afraid he gets aggressive when me specifically get “hurt” like play fighting like when my my three year-old cousin came over he bit him on the side and he had to get antibiotics to help it heal

What if my dog is only like this with one person? She’s terrified with no discernible reason. We assume this person smells like her cat, that’s literally all we can think of that bothers our little girl. She’s loud, but so are many others. Other people even have cats, we are just at a loss as to why she’s so reactive. The person feels insulted and I suppose I would too as an animal lover.
