I'm astounded at how grounded and stable you seem!!! 6 months?!?! I was a mess at the 6 month mark🤣. Don't get me wrong, it was the best and only decision I could make and I do NOT regret it. But girl, you amaze me! How did you unpack all that in 6 months and look like this? 😍

As a pretty much life long agnostic atheist I enjoy hearing people leaving the churches I do feel bad because often that causes people to lose their friends, family and community when they do and there isn't much support for people in that situation.

When I left a decade ago, I lost everything. My marriage, 98% of my friends, my family, prominent worship leading positions…Rebuilt from ground zero. Wouldn’t have had it any other way despite the grief. Welcome to autonomy and a beautiful life! 🥰

I started out agnostic atheist too and now I’m atheist because I can’t find any religions, spirituality, or mind set that involves a “higher power” that makes any sense. Congratulations by the way. It’s freeing not being tied to a religion.

Yes! I feel like I haven’t heard anyone talk about the difference between the two. I left Christianity before I decided I didn’t believe in God. There were different reasons for both.

I hope you feel so proud of yourself. Opening your mind and questioning takes so much strength and courage, especially after 30 years. The community / relationship loss part of this process can be so painful. I hope you are finding or have some safe relationships outside of the faith 🫶🏻

I was a bible study leader for a large organization, I was a seminary student, I studied Ancient Greek and Hebrew for fun. The 6 years ago I came out. Then my community excommunicated me. The decision to leave was made for me.
