I love working in the General ICU which is a level 3 because it provides an incredible variety of complex cases, keeping my skills sharp and every shift intellectually stimulating.

I’m new to icu as well, this is my 2nd month. I just took a patient to MRI who had so many drips. We could only keep two drips going while in MRI so ended up keeping Levo and vaso only.

I’m a new grad nurse in the Neurotrauma icu at a level 1 trauma center in Detroit and man is it rough! Like you said, the pros heavily outweigh the cons and the craziness of it all keeps you on your toes and constantly learning!

I was changing my double strength norad on a poorly patient in front of the whole family and I checked my lines a million times, did I still end up accidentally disconnecting my running norad instead of the old one to piggyback? yes.

I'm a patient transporter, most of my team hates doing ICU runs because of everything you mentioned, but as a new grad nurse who just graduated, they're my favorite because I feel like I can actually help a bit and see some cool stuff
