@simplychickensofficial: Integrating chicks- part 2! 🐥🏠🐔✨ After 8 days in the integration cage, I finally let the chicks out with the big girls. Here are a few important things to know when adding new birds to an existing flock 👇🏼 -New/young chickens have to find their place in your flock’s pecking order -Pecking, charging, and correcting behavior IS normal while hierarchy is established -Try not to intervene as your flock communicates naturally -KNOW the difference between normal flock behavior and true bullying -Show your chicks where to find foo/water in the new coop -Helps to add extra feeders & waterers the first few weeks 👉🏼MOST IMPORTANTLY: be home & supervise introductions. Coming to a bloodbath is not fun for you or your birds. NOT NORMAL: • Targeting one chick • Nonstop chasing • Blocking food/water • Blood or injuries • Severe feather loss NORMAL: • Pecking • Charging (then backing off) • Correcting behavior • Some karate kicks 🥋 #integration #chickens #chickensoftiktok #farmlife #babychicks
I have bantom chicks and there 12 months old how old are they when they start laying?

Do you suggest waiting for them to be closer to the same size before allowing them to go in the big run?

This is really well explained. I like how you bring up to not interfere with normal pecking order behavior. That can be so hard to do but important. 💜💜💜

The love. The absolute love for your flocks is so refreshing. A little bit of anxiety, but I know you are really watching everything going on. So excited to see how the new chicks interact. ♥️

Wait is that a Millie? The colorful one. Mine like to fight but I think it’s a rooster?? I’m lot sure. Not literally fighting but it will peck at random times
